Maddocks Gardens is a purpose built 90 bed complex combining BRHS permanent respite and dementia specific residential care services with 3 room types on offer.Incorporating Blue Gum Banksia and Sutherland wings we have ample space to provide a true home to our residents.Our aim is to allow residents to age within the facility in a friendly and relaxed environment promoting independence and quality of life. Residents with dementia the frail aged with complex needs and the Koori population are all specifically catered for.The multidisciplinary teams include Registered Nurses Enrolled Nurses Personal Care Attendants and Leisure and Lifestyle staff. They work collaboratively with GPs and Allied Health Professionals to provide residents with holistic contemporary best practice care.Our ‘In Reach Service’ is a valuable inclusion which is provided if a resident becomes unwell and their doctor is unavailable. A specialist nurse will come from the hospital to undertake a clinical assessment and liaise with the resident’s doctor and the staff at Maddocks Gardens to decide which the best location to provide ongoing care. Sometimes the best option for our resident is not to go to hospital but to be treated with specialist care delivery by this team in familiar surroundings.
