Garden Village was established as a not-for-profit charity in June 1972 initially by co-founders Mr Keith and Mrs Jean Westerweller. The village property at that time consisted of 3.4 hectares of unencumbered land close to the CBD area of Port Macquarie. In 2009 the village comprised 4.0 hectares with multiple facilities.
