Southern Cross Care Caloundra residential aged care facility is ideally situated on a fully landscaped site just minutes from the heart of Caloundra and its beautiful local beaches. SCC Caloundra has the added benefit of being co-located with a retirement village – Caloundra Rise.

Officially blessed and opened in March of 2004, this centre boasts state of the art facilities in residential aged care. Complete with 102 well appointed single rooms with stylish ensuites, air conditioned common rooms, a coffee shop and in house music to all public areas.

Southern Cross Care Caloundra has a resident's environmental committee, an arts and crafts club with a special group of resident painters, a resident choir who regularly perform within the centre and in the community at local churches. Each year an event is held for International Peace Day that involves all the residents, the local community and the residents of the retirement village.

Residents lead an active life, whether just walking in the grounds, joining in organised events or through participation in a full Diversional Therapist program.

The Diversional Therapy Program at Caloundra has been overwhelmed with positive comments from residents, their families and others from around the country. The resident's choir recorded a CD of peace and environment songs calling on the people of the world to work together. This was the direct result of a group discussion of war and what the people of the world are doing to the environment.

The CD “Red Friday” was cut and played on ABC radio and went to the troops in the Middle East, to England and all over Qld. It even made it on to YouTube.

The Choir continue to record and this year are recording a version of “We Are One”. The hope is to leave an inspirational legacy for future residents, with a multi-generational and multi-cultural focus.
